Nenad Abramović
MAYOR OF THE MUNICIPALITY
Born on April 23, 1984 in the pre-war municipality of Stolac. He completed elementary school in Berkovići, and secondary school of economics in Podgorica. In 2004, he entered the Faculty of Law at UIS, graduating in regular term in 2008.
He started working in the Municipality of Berkovići on September 1, 2009, first as a law enforcement officer, and then as the head of the Civil Protection Service.
In the local elections of 2012, 2016, and 2020, he was elected as the Mayor of Berkovići municipality. President of MB SDS - Berkovići. He successfully attended the Council of Europe School for Political Leaders. Married, father of three children.

MUNICIPAL MAYOR COMPETENCES:
The Mayor of the Municipality is competent to:
1) propose the Statute of the Municipality,
2) propose decisions and other general documents to the Municipal Assembly,
3) prepare and submit to the Municipal Assembly for adoption a draft and proposed budget, financial report, economic plan, strategic development plan, sectoral development plans, investment program, spatial and urban plan, and other planning and regulatory documents related to the use and management of space and land, including the use of public land under the jurisdiction of the Municipality, in accordance with the Law,
4) inform the Assembly about all issues within the jurisdiction of the Municipality, its rights and obligations,
5) implement local policy in accordance with the decisions of the Assembly, execute the local budget, and ensure the implementation of decisions and other acts of the Assembly,
6) execute the Laws and other regulations of Republika Srpska, the execution of which is entrusted to the Municipality,
7) pass a decision on the establishment of the Municipal Administration,
8) adopt the Rulebook on the internal organization and systematization of work for the municipal Administration,
9) propose the appointment and dismissal of the head of the department or service,
10) propose and adopt general and individual acts on the organization and functioning of civil protection in the field of protection and rescue and performs other tasks in the field of protection and rescue in accordance with the Law and the Statute,
11) undertake operational and other measures in case of disruptions or interruptions in the performance of communal activities,
12) implement the cooperation of the Municipality with other units of local self- government, international and other organizations, in accordance with the decisions and conclusions of the Assembly and its working bodies,
13) give consent to the Statutes and other general acts of companies and institutions founded by the Municipality,
14) submit a report to the Assembly on the work in the bodies of communal services companies,
15) adopt the annual work plan of the Mayor of the municipality and the municipal administration,
16) submit a report to the Assembly on its work and the work of the municipal administration,
17) launch the initiative to suspend the implementation of a general or individual act of the Assembly pending the decision of the competent court, if it considers that it is contrary to the Constitution and the Law,
18) sign contracts on behalf of the Municipality, in accordance with acts of the Assembly,
19) resolve, in the second instance, appeals against first-instance decisions, if RS authorities are not competent for resolution,
20) decide on the use and disposal of the property of the Municipality, in accordance with the Law and decisions of the Assembly,
21) pass decisions on the disposal of funds in accordance with acts of the Assembly,
22) approve the use of the names of municipalities and settlements in the business name of companies, institutions, and other organizations,
23) decide on the conflict of jurisdiction between the organizational units of the municipal administration and the municipal administration and organizations that perform tasks of interest to the Municipality,
24) decide on the exemption of an official of the municipal administration, and
25) perform other tasks determined by the Law and the Statute.
