At the 3rd regular session of the Municipal Assembly of Berkovići, a Conclusion was unanimously adopted, based on the proposal of the Mayor of Berkovići, to launch an initiative towards the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska, and the Public Enterprise "Roads of the Republic of Srpska" for the rehabilitation of a section of the regional road R 6101 Krivča - Berkovići - Border of the Republic of Srpska (Do), approximately 14 km in length.

The regional road R 6101 (formerly R427) – Border of the Republic of Srpska (Do) - Berkovići - Krivča (42 km in length) represents the most frequented and overloaded road in the territory of Berkovići Municipality. Although most of this road was rehabilitated in 2011, there are a significant number of potholes and other damages on the roadway, which significantly jeopardize traffic safety. The priority of this initiative is the rehabilitation of the remaining section of the road, approximately 14 km long, which was not covered by previous works. An additional issue arises on the section that passes near the location of the future Hydro Power Plant Dabar, where there is a bottleneck over a length of 1.5 km. It is planned to relocate the road at this location in accordance with the needs of the construction project for the HPP Dabar. Since the works on the construction of the HPP Dabar, carried out by the Chinese Gezuba Group, have already begun, the maintenance of this part of the road has been completely neglected (the section is hardly passable).

"It is necessary, without delay, to accelerate activities on the implementation of the road relocation project, as well as the rehabilitation of other critical parts of the road, which is essential for the safety and functionality of this road, which, for the residents of Berkovići Municipality, represents the most important traffic artery. Considering all the mentioned issues and the significance of this road, I sincerely hope that the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the Public Enterprise Roads of the Republic of Srpska will recognize the urgency of this request and include it in the plans for 2025," stated the Mayor of Berkovići, Bojan Samardžić.
