The Council for Cooperation with the Diaspora was established as an Advisory Body to the Municipal Mayor.
The tasks of the Council are:
- mapping and development of a database on persons who were born or originate from the municipality of Berkovići, but live outside the borders
of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- establishment of communication channels with the diaspora,
- creating policies for the inclusion of the diaspora in the economic development of Berkovići, developing key areas for the positive influence of
the diaspora on the economic development of Berkovići,
- development of mechanisms for the inclusion of the diaspora in the social development of Berkovići (culture, sports, education, health...).
The Council was formed in accordance with the measures defined in the Development Strategy of the Municipality of Berkovići for the period 2022-2028. Namely, one of the strategic actions within the Measure: 1.1.1. Support for investments in the economy and entrepreneurship, envisioned the formation of the Council for Cooperation with the Diaspora and the inclusion of the diaspora in the economic development of Berkovići.

In cooperation with the USAID project "Diaspora Invest", the municipality of Berkovići is carrying out the diaspora mapping and networking activity.
If you are from the municipality of Berkovići directly or through your ancestors, please register and fill out this survey. The aim of the suvay is to inform and involve diaspora in future activities that will be carried out with our diaspora, engaging them within the development of Berkovići.
The survey was created in accordance with the BiH Law on the Protection of Personal Data. After the database of contacts is created, it will be used by the Municipality of Berkovići, exclusively for the purpose of including the diaspora in local economic development.
