In the Berkovići Municipal Assembly premises, contracts were signed today, April 15, 2024, with beneficiaries within the EU4Agri project - support for investments in the diversification of economic and social activities in rural areas.
The Municipality of Berkovići, together with five agricultural farms from the territory of the municipality of Berkovići, applied with the project "Diversification of production of agricultural producers from the municipality of Berkovići" with a total value of 105,162.54 KM excluding VAT, to the public call for a measure of support for investments in the diversification of economic and social activities in rural areas within the EU4Agri project. Agricultural producers were chosen on the basis of a public invitation to registered agricultural holdings to express interest in participating in the EU4Agri project published by the Municipality of Berkovići. EU4AGRI is a four-year initiative (2020-2024), with the aim of modernizing the agricultural and food sector, opening new and retaining existing jobs, and supporting the recovery from the crisis caused by the COVID-19 virus in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The EU4AGRI project is primarily funded by the European Union (EU) under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA). The value of the project is 20 million euros, with joint co-financing by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Czech Development Agency (CzDA).
