The Mayor of Berkovići Municipality, Bojan Samardžić, along with the Head of the Department for Finance, Economy, Development Management, and Social Activities, Danilo Ćupina, and the Development Management Advisor, Draško Džombeta, held a meeting yesterday (December 16) with Suzana Madžarić from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, the lead partner of the "Pro-Bio" project, and Vanja Avram, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting focused on the commencement of the three-year "Pro-Bio" project, aimed at supporting local agricultural activities with an emphasis on preserving and improving indigenous varieties, crops, and products unique to the Berkovići region. This initiative aligns with the priority activities outlined in the Berkovići Municipality Development Strategy (2022–2028) and the Rural Development Strategy (2023–2029).
The discussion also covered completed activities from the ANC BiH project, successfully implemented in collaboration with the same partners. The successful execution of this project has laid a strong foundation for continued collaboration and new initiatives through the "Pro-Bio" project.
The Berkovići Municipality remains committed to supporting agricultural producers, developing rural areas, and preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the region.
